At yellow house we choose homemade comfort food over store bought munchies. For many of our boys, this is their only shot to eat proper, yummy food.
The hardest part of this mitzvah is that you won’t witness the joy of seeing the boys gobble up all your hard work. And this is also the reason why the reward is so great.
Serving kids here. Nutrition is important but please skip the truffle oil, blue cheese, raw honey and kombucha.
YH feeds boys from ALL backgrounds. Please be sensitive when cooking so that every boy can enjoy it.

Bet Yosef from any certified community butcher.

Halav Yisrael only.

Factory or home checked with methods approved by a kashrut agency (jsor.org, star k crc)

Yashan only.
For Sefaradim, any grains grown after passover isn’t allowed until the following passover. This applies to (1) Wheat, (2) Barley (and malt), (3) Oats, (4) Spelt and (5) rye.
Many companies list the yashan label on the product. If there isn’t any, Yoshon.com has an app where you can simply scan the barcode for status. You can also call Rabbanit Adina Esses who can answer questions easily at (718) 578-9053

Dinner is usually enjoyed by 7-15 boys.
Shabbat seudot 13-25

YH is located at 1344 east 17 between Ave M and N. The front gate code is #1818 #.
Please put the food in the gazebo just past the pond.
Please note: To put an extra smile on the boys faces, feel free to write a short sweet message of best wishes. The random gesture from all the unknown community moms and daughters is priceless to a smashed up child.
